Psalms 141:10

10 Sinners shall fall in the net thereof; I am alone till I pass. (Let the sinners fall into their own nets; while I alone shall safely pass by.)

Psalms 141:10 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 141:10

Let the wicked fall into their own nets
Which they have laid for others, as they very often do; see ( Psalms 7:15 Psalms 7:16 ) ; or "into his net" F11, either Saul into his own net, and others with him, so Kimchi and Ben Melech; or the wicked into the net which God has laid for them; see ( Ezekiel 12:13 ) ;

whilst that I withal escape;
or "whilst I together escape", or "pass over" F12; that is, while he, together with his companions, passed over the net laid; or,

``till I pass over safe and sound,''

will all mine, as Noldius F13; not only pass over and escape the snares of the wicked, but pass out of this world into a state of happiness and glory in another.

Psalms 141:10 In-Context

8 Lord, Lord, for mine eyes be to thee, I hoped in thee; take thou not away my soul. (Lord, Lord, I fix my eyes upon thee, and I put my trust in thee; do not let me die!)
9 Keep thou me from the snare which they ordained to me; and from the traps of them that work wickedness. (Keep thou me safe from the snare which they have set for me; yea, from the traps of those who do evil.)
10 Sinners shall fall in the net thereof; I am alone till I pass. (Let the sinners fall into their own nets; while I alone shall safely pass by.)
