61 E dos filhos dos sacerdotes: os filhos de Habaías, os filhos de Hacoz, os filhos de Barzilai, que tomou mulher das filhas de Barzilai, o gileadita, e que foi chamado do seu nome.

Ezra 2:61

And of the children of the priests
Who could not make out their pedigree, for those that could are mentioned before:

the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of
Barzillai;
how the latter came by this name follows:

which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was
called after their name;
this man married a woman that descended from the famous Barzillai the Gileadite, in the times of David; and the priesthood being in disuse, and mean and despicable, in Babylon, he chose to take the name of his wife's family, and pass for a descendant from that, and perhaps destroyed, or at least neglected, to take care of the genealogy of his own family.

59 Estes foram os que subiram de Tel-Mela, de Tel-Harsa, de Querube, de Adã e de Imer; porém não puderam provar que as suas casas paternas e sua linhagem eram de Israel:

60 os filhos de Delaías, os filhos de Tobias, os filhos de Necoda, seiscentos e cinqüenta e dois.

61 E dos filhos dos sacerdotes: os filhos de Habaías, os filhos de Hacoz, os filhos de Barzilai, que tomou mulher das filhas de Barzilai, o gileadita, e que foi chamado do seu nome.

62 Estes procuraram o seu registro entre os que estavam arrolados nas genealogias, mas não foi encontrado; pelo que, por imundos, foram excluídos do sacerdócio;

63 e o governador lhes intimou que não comessem das coisas santíssimas, até que se levantasse um sacerdote com Urim e Tumim.
