For even1as the body is one and yet hasmanymembers, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are onebody, 2soalso is Christ.
For a3by oneSpirit we were allbaptized into onebody, whether4JewsorGreeks, whetherslavesorfree, and we were allmade to 5drink of oneSpirit.
For 6the body is not onemember, but many.
15If the footsays, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for thisreasonbany the less a part of the body.
And if the earsays, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for thisreasoncany the less a part of the body.
17If the wholebody were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?
But nowGod has 7placed the members, eachone of them, in the body, 8just as He desired.
19If they were allonemember, where would the body be?
But now9there are manymembers, but onebody.
And the eyecannotsay to the hand, "I havenoneed of you"; oragain the head to the feet, "I havenoneed of you."
On the contrary, dit is muchtruer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;
and those members of the bodywhich we edeemlesshonorable, fon these we bestowmoreabundanthonor, and our lesspresentable members becomemuchmorepresentable,
24whereas our morepresentable members havenoneed of it. But God has so composed the body, givingmoreabundanthonor to that member which lacked,
25so that there may be nogdivision in the body, but that the members may have the samecare for oneanother.
And ifonemembersuffers, all the memberssuffer with it; if one member is hhonored, all the membersrejoice with it.
27Now you are 10Christ'sbody, and 11individuallymembers of it.
And God has i12appointed in 13the church, first14apostles, second15prophets, third16teachers, thenj17miracles, then18gifts of healings, helps, 19administrations, various 20kinds of tongues.
29All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of kmiracles, are they?
30All do not havegifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not 21interpret, do they?
But 22earnestlydesire the greatergifts. A nd I show you a stillmoreexcellentway.
