because those who are led by the Spirit of God1 are sons of God.215
For you did not receive a spirit3 that makes you a slave again to fear,4 but you received the Spirit of sonship.a And by him we cry, ""Abba,"b Father."516
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit6 that we are God's children.717
Now if we are children, then we are heirs8--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings9 in order that we may also share in his glory.10
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.1119
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God12 to be revealed.
For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it,13 in hope
thatc the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay14 and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.1522
We know that the whole creation has been groaning16 as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,17 groan18 inwardly as we wait eagerly19 for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.2024
For in this hope we were saved.21 But hope that is seen is no hope at all.22 Who hopes for what he already has?
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.2326
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit24 himself intercedes for us25 with groans that words cannot express.
And he who searches our hearts26 knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes27 for the saints in accordance with God's will.
