2Godspoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am 1the LORD;
and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as a2GodAlmighty, but by 3My name, bLORD, I did not make Myself known to them.
"I alsoestablished4My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the cland in which they sojourned.
5"Furthermore I have 5heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
6"Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, '6I am the LORD, and 7I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also 8redeem you with 9an outstretchedarm and with greatjudgments.
'Then I will take you d10for My people, and 11I will be eyour God; and 12you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
'I will bring you to the landwhich13I fswore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and 14I will give it to you for a possession; 15I am the LORD.' "
