8 Y habĂ­a en Listra un hombre que estaba sentado, imposibilitado de los pies, cojo desde el seno de su madre y que nunca habĂ­a andado.

Hechos 14:8 Meaning and Commentary

Acts 14:8

And there sat a certain man at Lystra
Where the apostle was preaching; and perhaps he sat there to beg, where there was a great concourse of people, and which might be in the open street: this man was

impotent in his feet;
so weak, as not to be able to walk, and even to stand on them, and therefore is said to sit:

being a cripple from his mother's womb;
he was born lame, as was the man cured by Peter, ( Acts 3:2 )

who never had walked;
these circumstances are mentioned, to show that his case was incurable by any human art, and to illustrate the following miracle.

6 los apĂłstoles se dieron cuenta de ello y huyeron a las ciudades de Licaonia, Listra, Derbe, y sus alrededores;
7 y allĂ­ continuaron anunciando el evangelio.
8 Y habĂ­a en Listra un hombre que estaba sentado, imposibilitado de los pies, cojo desde el seno de su madre y que nunca habĂ­a andado.
9 Este escuchaba hablar a Pablo, el cual, fijando la mirada en él, y viendo que tenía fe para ser sanado,
10 dijo con fuerte voz: Levántate derecho sobre tus pies. Y él dio un salto y anduvo.
