Psalm 24:4-5; Matthew 6:21-24; James 1:8; 1 John 3:2-3

4 Those with clean hands and pure hearts, who don't make vanities the purpose of their lives or swear oaths just to deceive. 5 They will receive a blessing from ADONAI and justice from God, who saves them.
21 For where your wealth is, there your heart will be also. 22 `The eye is the lamp of the body.' So if you have a `good eye' [that is, if you are generous] your whole body will be full of light; 23 but if you have an `evil eye' [if you are stingy] your whole body will be full of darkness. If, then, the light in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No one can be slave to two masters; for he will either hate the first and love the second, or scorn the second and be loyal to the first. You can't be a slave to both God and money.
8 because he is double-minded, unstable in all his ways.
2 Dear friends, we are God's children now; and it has not yet been made clear what we will become. We do know that when he appears, we will be like him; because we will see him as he really is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in him continues purifying himself, since God is pure.
