having been buried with him in baptism1 and raised with him2 through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.313
When you were dead in your sins4 and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,a God made youb alive5 with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,614
having canceled the written code, with its regulations,7 that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.815
And having disarmed the powers and authorities,9 he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them10 by the cross.c16
Therefore do not let anyone judge you11 by what you eat or drink,12 or with regard to a religious festival,13 a New Moon celebration14 or a Sabbath day.1517
These are a shadow of the things that were to come;16 the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility17 and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize.18 Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.
He has lost connection with the Head,19 from whom the whole body,20 supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.2120
Since you died with Christ22 to the basic principles of this world,23 why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:2421
"Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"?
These are all destined to perish25 with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.26
