151Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will.
The latter do it out of love, 2knowing that I am put here for 3the defense of the gospel.
The former proclaim Christ 4out of rivalry, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.
What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,
for I know that 5through your prayers and 6the help of 7the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance,
as it is my eager expectation and hope 8that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full 9courage now as always Christ 10will be honored in my body, 11whether by life or by death.
For to me 12to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.
2313I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is 14to depart and 15be with Christ, for that is far better.
But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.
2516Convinced of this, 17I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your 18progress and 19joy in the faith,
