And there cameoneof the sevenangelswhichhad the sevenvials,andtalkedwithme,saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the greatwhore that sittethuponmanywaters:

So he carriedmeawayin the spiritinto the wilderness:and I saw a womansitupon a scarlet colouredbeast, full ofnames of blasphemy,havingsevenheadsandtenhorns.

And the womanwasarrayed in purpleand scarlet colour,anddecked with goldandpreciousstonesandpearls,having a goldencupinherhand full ofabominationsandfilthiness of herfornication:

And the angelsaid unto me,Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tellthee the mystery of the woman,and of the beast that carriethher,whichhath the sevenheadsandtenhorns.

The beastthat thou sawestwas, andisnot;andshallascend out of the bottomless pit,andgointoperdition:and they that dwellon the earth shall wonder, whosenameswerenotwrittenin the book of lifefrom the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was*, andisnot, and yetis.

These shall make warwith the Lamb,and the Lamb shall overcomethem:for he isLord of lords,andKing of kings:and they that are withhim are called,andchosen,andfaithful.

And the tenhornswhich thou sawestupon the beast,these shall hate the whore,and shall makeherdesolateandnaked,and shall eatherflesh,andburnherwithfire.

And he criedmightilywith a strongvoice,saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils,and the hold of everyfoulspirit,and a cage of everyuncleanandhatefulbird.

Forallnations have drunkof the wine of the wrath of herfornication,and the kings of the earth have committed fornicationwithher,and the merchants of the earth are waxed richthrough the abundance of herdelicacies.

How much she hath glorifiedherself,and lived deliciously, so muchtormentandsorrowgiveher:for she saithinherheart, I sit a queen,andamnowidow,and shall seenosorrow.

And the kings of the earth,who have committed fornicationand lived deliciouslywithher, shall bewailher,andlamentforher,when they shall see the smoke of herburning,

The merchandise of gold,andsilver,andpreciousstones,and of pearls,and fine linen,andpurple,andsilk,andscarlet,andallthyinewood,and all mannervessels of ivory,and all mannervesselsof most preciouswood,and of brass,andiron,andmarble,

Andcinnamon,andodours,andointments,andfrankincense,andwine,andoil,and fine flour,andwheat,andbeasts,andsheep,andhorses,andchariots,andslaves,andsouls of men.

And the fruits that thysoul lusted after are departedfromthee,and all thingswhich were daintyandgoodly are departedfromthee,and thou shalt findthem no more at all.

And they castdustontheirheads,andcried, weepingandwailing, saying, Alas,alas, that greatcity,whereinwere made richall that hadshipsin the sea by reason ofhercostliness!for in onehour is she made desolate.

Andamightyangel took up a stonelike a greatmillstone,andcast it into the sea,saying, Thus with violenceshall that greatcityBabylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

And the voice of harpers,andmusicians,and of pipers,andtrumpeters, shall be heard no more at allinthee;andno*craftsman, of whatsoevercraft he be, shall be found any moreinthee;and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at allinthee;

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at allinthee;and the voice of the bridegroomand of the bride shall be heard no more at allinthee:forthymerchantswere the great men of the earth;forbythysorcerieswereallnationsdeceived.
