I will bring upon that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written1 in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations.
They themselves will be enslaved2 by many nations3 and great kings; I will repay4 them according to their deeds and the work of their hands."
This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: "Take from my hand this cup5 filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send6 you drink it.
When they drink7 it, they will stagger8 and go mad9 because of the sword10 I will send among them."
So I took the cup from the LORD's hand and made all the nations to whom he sent11 me drink it:
Jerusalem12 and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin13 and an object of horror and scorn14 and cursing,15 as they are today;1619
Pharaoh king17 of Egypt,18 his attendants, his officials and all his people,
and all the foreign people there; all the kings of Uz;19 all the kings of the Philistines20 (those of Ashkelon,21 Gaza,22 Ekron, and the people left at Ashdod);
Edom,23 Moab24 and Ammon;2522
all the kings of Tyre26 and Sidon;27 the kings of the coastlands28 across the sea;
Dedan,29 Tema,30 Buz31 and all who are in distant placesa;32
