"Goodbye, proud world! I'm going home; Thou art not my friend, and I am not thine." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) Luke 9:61 depicts Jesus, a short time before He knew he would be crucified in Jerusalem. He was going home. It was a tough road there, but it was the road the Father had chosen for Him. His Journey Home went through Jerusalem and all that it represented. We are all on the journey home. The difference is that we do not know when or by what means we will travel there. We must first settle in our hearts that this is not our home.
