1AtthattimeJesuswent on the sabbath daythrough the corn;andhisdisciples were an hungred , andbegan to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat .
2But when the Phariseessaw it, they said unto him,Behold , thydisciplesdo that whichisnotlawful to doupon the sabbath day.3But he said unto them,Have yenotreadwhatDaviddid , whenhe was an hungred , andthey that were with him;4How he entered into the house of God,and did eat the shewbread , whichwasnotlawful for him to eat , neither for them which were with him, butonly for the priests?5Or have yenotreadin the law, how that on the sabbath days the priestsin the templeprofane the sabbath,andareblameless?6But I say unto you,That in this place is one greater than the temple.7Butif ye had knownwhat this meaneth , I will havemercy, andnotsacrifice, ye wouldnot have condemned the guiltless.8For the Son of manisLordeven of the sabbath day.9And when he was departedthence, he wentintotheirsynagogue:10And,behold , there was a man which had his handwithered. And they askedhim, saying , Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days?that they might accusehim.11And he said unto them,Whatman shall there beamongyou, that shall haveonesheep, andifitfallinto a pit on the sabbath day, will henot lay hold on it,and lift it out ?12How muchthen is a man better than a sheep?Wherefore it is lawful to dowell on the sabbath days.13Thensaith he to the man, Stretch forththinehand. And he stretched it forth ; and it was restoredwhole, like as the other.14Then the Pharisees went out , and helda a councilagainsthim, how they might destroyhim.15But when Jesusknew it, he withdrew himself from thence:andgreatmultitudesfollowedhim, and he healedthemall;16Andchargedthemthat they shouldnotmakehimknown:17That it might be fulfilledwhich was spokenbyEsaias the prophet, saying ,
18Beholdmyservant,whom I have chosen ; mybeloved,inwhommysoul is well pleased : I will putmyspirituponhim,and he shall shewjudgment to the Gentiles.19
He shallnotstrive , norcry ; neither shall any manhearhisvoicein the streets.20
A bruisedreed shall henotbreak , andsmokingflax shall henotquench , tillhe send forthjudgmentuntovictory.21Andinhisnameshall the Gentilestrust .
22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil , blind, anddumb:and he healedhim, insomuch that the blindanddumbbothspakeandsaw .
23Andall the people were amazed , andsaid , Isnotthis the son of David?24But when the Phariseesheard it, they said , This fellow dothnot cast outdevils, butbyBeelzebubb the prince of the devils.25AndJesusknewtheirthoughts, and said unto them,Everykingdomdividedagainstitself is brought to desolation ; andeverycityorhousedividedagainstitselfshallnotstand :26AndifSatan cast outSatan, he is dividedagainsthimself;howshallthenhiskingdomstand ?27AndifIbyBeelzebub cast outdevils, bywhom do yourchildren cast them out ? thereforethey shall beyourjudges.28ButifI cast outdevilsby the Spirit of God,then the kingdom of God is comeuntoyou.29Or else howcanoneenterinto a strong man'shouse, andspoilhisgoods, except he firstbind the strong man?andthen he will spoilhishouse.30He that isnotwithmeisagainstme;and he that gatherethnotwithme scattereth abroad .31WhereforeIsay unto you, All manner ofsinandblasphemy shall be forgiven unto men:but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghostshallnot be forgiven unto men.32Andwhosoeverspeaketh a wordagainst the Son of man, it shall be forgivenhim:butwhosoeverspeakethagainst the HolyGhost, it shallnot be forgivenhim, neitherinthisworld, neitherin the world to come .33Eithermake the treegood, andhisfruitgood; or elsemake the treecorrupt, andhisfruitcorrupt:for the tree is knownby his fruit.34O generation of vipers, how can ye , beingevil, speak good things?for out of the abundance of the heart the mouthspeaketh .35A goodman out of the goodtreasure of the heart bringeth forth good things:and an evilman out of the eviltreasure bringeth forth evil things.36But I say unto you,Thateveryidlewordthatmen shall speak , they shall giveaccountthereofin the day of judgment.37Forbythywords thou shalt be justified , andbythywords thou shalt be condemned .38Thencertain of the scribesand of the Phariseesanswered , saying , Master, we wouldsee a signfromthee.39But he answered and said unto them,An evilandadulterousgeneration seeketh after a sign;and there shall nosign be given to it,but the sign of the prophetJonas:40ForasJonaswasthreedaysandthreenightsin the whale'sbelly;so shall the Son of manbethreedaysandthreenightsin the heart of the earth.41The men of Nineveh shall riseinjudgmentwiththisgeneration, and shall condemnit:because they repentedat the preaching of Jonas;and, behold , a greater thanJonas is here.42The queen of the south shall rise upin the judgmentwiththisgeneration, and shall condemnit:for she camefrom the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon;and, behold , a greater thanSolomon is here.43When the uncleanspirit is gone out of a man, he walkeththroughdryplaces,seekingrest,andfindethnone.44Then he saith , I will returnintomyhouse from whence I came out ; and when he is come , he findeth it empty , swept , andgarnished .45Then goeth he , andtakethwithhimselfsevenotherspirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwellthere:and the last state of thatmanis worse than the first. Even so shall it bealso unto thiswickedgeneration.46Whileheyettalked to the people, behold , his motherandhisbrethrenstoodwithout, desiring to speak with him.47Thenonesaid unto him,Behold , thymotherandthybrethrenstandwithout, desiring to speak with thee.48But he answered and said unto him that toldhim,Whoismymother?andwhoaremybrethren?49And he stretched forthhishandtowardhisdisciples, and said , Beholdmymotherandmybrethren!50Forwhosoevershalldo the will of myFatherwhich is inheaven, the sameismybrother, andsister, andmother.
