But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth , and his anger burned in him.
After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased , he remembered Vashti, and what she had done , and what was decreed against her.
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up , nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified .
