The LORD is good,1 a refuge in times of trouble.2 He cares for3 those who trust in him,4
but with an overwhelming flood5 he will make an end of [Nineveh]; he will pursue his foes into darkness.
Whatever they plot6 against the LORD he will bring to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
They will be entangled among thorns7 and drunk8 from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble.9
