61But godliness actually is a means of 2greatgain when accompanied by 3contentment.
For 4we have broughtnothing into the world, so we cannottakeanything out of it either.
If we 5havefood and covering, with these we shall be content.
96But those who want to getrichfall into temptation and 7a snare and manyfoolish and harmfuldesireswhichplungemen into ruin and destruction.
For 8the love of money is a root of allasorts of evil, and some by longing for it have 9wanderedaway from the faith and piercedthemselves with manygriefs.
But 10flee from thesethings, you 11man of God, and pursuerighteousness, godliness, 12faith, 13love, bperseverance and gentleness.
1214Fight the goodfight of 15faith; 16takehold of the eternallife17to which you were called, and you made the good18confession in the presence of 19manywitnesses.
1320I charge you in the presence of God, who cgiveslife to allthings, and of 21ChristJesus, who testified the 22goodconfession23beforePontiusPilate,
that you keep the commandmentwithoutstain or reproachuntil the 24appearing of our LordJesusChrist,
15which He will dbring about at 25the propertime -He who is 26the blessed and 27onlySovereign, 28the King of ekings and 29Lord of flords,
1630who alonepossessesimmortality and 31dwells in unapproachablelight, 32whomnoman has seenorcansee. 33To Him be honor and eternaldominion! Amen.
17Instructthose who are rich in 34thispresentworld35not to be conceitedor to 36fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, 37who richlysupplies us with allthings to enjoy.
Instruct them to dogood, to be rich in 38goodgworks, 39to be generous and ready to share,
1940storing up for themselves the treasure of a goodfoundation for the future, so that they may 41takehold of that which is lifeindeed.
