1But godliness actually is a means of 2great gain when accompanied by 3contentment.
7
For 4we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
8
If we 5have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
9
6But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and 7a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
10
For 8the love of money is a root of all asorts of evil, and some by longing for it have 9wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
11
But 10flee from these things, you 11man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, 12faith, 13love, bperseverance and gentleness.

14Fight the good fight of 15faith ; 16take hold of the eternal life 17to which you were called, and you made the good 18confession in the presence of 19many witnesses.
13
20I charge you in the presence of God, who cgives life to all things, and of 21Christ Jesus, who testified the 22good confession 23before Pontius Pilate,

that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the 24appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15
which He will dbring about at 25the proper time -He who is 26the blessed and 27only Sovereign, 28the King of ekings and 29Lord of flords,
16
30who alone possesses immortality and 31dwells in unapproachable light, 32whom no man has seen or can see. 33To Him be honor and eternal dominion ! Amen.

Instruct those who are rich in 34this present world 35not to be conceited or to 36fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, 37who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
18
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in 38good gworks, 39to be generous and ready to share,
19
40storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may 41take hold of that which is life indeed.
