But be that as it may, I 1did not burden you myself; nevertheless, crafty fellow that I am, I 2took you in by deceit.
173Certainly I have not takenadvantage of you throughany of those whom I have sent to you, have I?
I 4urged5Titus to go, and I sent6the brother with him. Titus did not takeanyadvantage of you, did he? Did we not aconductourselvesbin the same7spirit and walk 8in the samesteps?
19Allthistimecyou have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, 9it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and 10all for your upbuilding, 11beloved.
For I amafraid that perhaps12when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be 13strife, jealousy, 14angrytempers, 15disputes, 16slanders, 17gossip, 18arrogance, 19disturbances;
I am afraid that when I comeagain my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have 20sinned in the past and not repented of the 21impurity, dimmorality and sensualitywhich they have practiced.
