But be that as it may, I 1did not burden you myself ; nevertheless, crafty fellow that I am, I 2took you in by deceit.
173Certainly I have not takenadvantage of you throughany of those whom I have sent to you, have I?
I 4urged5Titus to go, and I sent6the brother with him. Titus did not takeanyadvantage of you, did he? Did we not aconductourselvesbin the same7spirit and walk 8in the samesteps ?
19Allthistimecyou have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, 9it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ ; and 10all for your upbuilding, 11beloved.
For I amafraid that perhaps12when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish ; that perhaps there will be 13strife, jealousy, 14angrytempers, 15disputes, 16slanders, 17gossip, 18arrogance, 19disturbances ;
I am afraid that when I comeagain my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have 20sinned in the past and not repented of the 21impurity, dimmorality and sensualitywhich they have practiced.
