For in the case of those who have once been 1enlightened and have tasted of 2the heavenlygift and have beenmade3partakers of the HolySpirit,
and 4have tasted the good5word of God and the powers of 6the age to come,
and then have fallenaway, it is 7impossible to renew them again to repentance, a8since they againcrucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to openshame.
For ground that drinks the rain which oftenbfalls on it and bringsforthvegetationuseful to those9for whosesake it is alsotilled, receives a blessing from God;
but if it yieldsthorns and thistles, it is worthless and 10closecto being cursed, and dit ends up being burned.
But, 11beloved, we are convinced of betterthingsconcerning you, and things that eaccompanysalvation, though we are speaking in thisway.
For 12God is not unjust so as to forget13your work and the lovewhich you have showntoward His name, in having 14ministered and in still ministering to the fsaints.
And we desire that eachone of you show the samediligencegso as to realize the 15fullassurance of 16hopeuntil the end,
12so that you will not be sluggish, but 17imitators of those who through18faith and patience19inherit the promises.
For 20when Godmade the promise to Abraham, since He couldswear by noonegreater, He 21swore by Himself,
14saying, "22I WILL SURELYBLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELYMULTIPLY YOU."
