In the year of 1KingUzziah'sdeath2I saw the Lordsitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robefilling the temple.
2Seraphimstoodabove Him, 3each having sixwings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And onecalled out to another and said, "4Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The a5wholeearth is full of His glory."
And the bfoundations of the thresholdstrembled at the voice of him who called out, while the c6temple was filling with smoke.
Then I said, "7Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of 8uncleanlips, And I liveamong a 9people of uncleanlips; For my eyes have seen the 10King, the LORD of hosts."
Then one of the seraphimflew to me with a burningcoal in his hand, which he had taken from the 11altar with tongs.
He 12touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and 13your iniquity is takenaway and your sin is dforgiven."
Then I heard the 14voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then 15I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
He said, "Go, and tellthispeople: 'Keep on 16listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.'
"17Render the hearts of thispeoplee18insensitive, Their earsfdull, And their eyesgdim, 19Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed."
Then I said, "Lord, 20howlong ?" And He answered, "Until21cities are devastated and withoutinhabitant, Houses are withoutpeople And the land is utterlydesolate,
"The LORD has 22removedmenfar away, And the h23forsakenplaces are many in the midst of the land.
13"Yet there will be a tenthportion in it, And it will again be subject to burning, Like a terebinth or an 24oakWhosestump remains when it is felled. The 25holyseed is its stump."
