For You have been a 1defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress, A 2refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the 3ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall.
Like heat in drought, You subdue the 4uproar of aliens; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is asilenced.
65The LORD of hosts will prepare a blavishbanquet for 6allpeoples on thismountain; A banquet of cagedwine, dchoice pieces with marrow, And erefined, agedwine.
And on thismountain He will swallow up the f7covering which is overallpeoples, Even the veil which is gstretchedoverallnations.
He will 8swallow up death for alltime, And the LordhGOD will 9wipetearsaway from allfaces, And He will remove the 10reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken.
And it will be said in that day, "Behold, 11this is our God for whom we have 12waited that 13He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; 14Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation."
For the hand of the LORD will rest on thismountain, And 15Moab will be troddendown in his place As straw is troddendown in the water of a manurepile.
And he will 16spread out his hands in the middle of it As a swimmerspreads out his hands to swim, But the Lord will 17laylow his pridetogether with the trickery of his hands.
