Jesus Goes to Galilee

1 Therefore when ¹the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and ²baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although ³Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His ⁴disciples were), 3 He left ⁵Judea and went away ⁶again into Galilee. 4 And He had to pass through ⁷Samaria. 5 So He came to a city of ⁸Samaria called Sychar, near ⁹the parcel of ground that ¹⁰Jacob gave to his son Joseph ; 6 and Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about ^athe sixth hour.
