And He said, "Truly I say to you, 1noprophet is welcome in his hometown.25"But I say to you in truth, there were manywidows in Israel2in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for threeyears and sixmonths, when a greatfaminecameoverall the land;26and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but 3only to aZarephath, in the land of 4Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.27"And there were manylepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but 5onlyNaaman the Syrian."28
And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heardthesethings;
and they got up and 6drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.
But 7passingthrough their midst, He went His way.
And 8He camedown to 9Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;
and 10they were amazed at His teaching, for 11His bmessage was with authority.
In the synagogue there was a mancpossessed by the spirit of an uncleandemon, and he cried out with a loudvoice,
34"Let us alone! d12What business do we have with each other, Jesuseof 13Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I knowwho You are-14the HolyOne of God!"
