33 The people saw them going, and manyrecognized them and rantheretogether on foot from all the cities, and gotthereahead of them.

When Jesus wentashore, He 1saw a largecrowd, and He feltcompassion for them because2they were likesheepwithout* a shepherd; and He began to teach them manythings.

When it was alreadyquitelate*, His disciplescame to Him and said, "Thisplace is desolate and it is alreadyquitelate*;

send them awayso that they may go into the surroundingcountryside and villages and buythemselvessomething to eat."

But He answered them, "You give them something to eat!"3And they said to Him, "Shall we go and spendtwohundred4denarii on bread and give them something to eat?"

And He said to them, "Howmanyloaves do you have? Golook!" And when they found out, they said, "Five, and twofish."

And He commanded them all to sitdown by groups on the greengrass.

They satdown in groups of hundreds and of fifties.

And He took the fiveloaves and the twofish, and looking up towardheaven, He 5blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to setbefore them; and He divided up the twofish among them all.
