Psalm 11

TMB 1 <<To the chief musician: A Psalm of David.>> In the LORD I put my trust; how say ye to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain, NIV 1 In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain. TMB 2 for lo, the wicked bend their bow and make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart; NIV 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. TMB 3 if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" NIV 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do ?" TMB 4 The LORD is in His holy temple! The LORD'S throne is in heaven! His eyes behold; His eyelids test the children of men! NIV 4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them. TMB 5 The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence, His soul hateth. NIV 5 The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. TMB 6 Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. NIV 6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. TMB 7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright. NIV 7 For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.
