Psalm 147

LEB 1 Praise Yah. For [it is] good to sing praises [to] our God; for [it is] pleasant; praise is fitting. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! LEB 2 Yahweh [is] building Jerusalem; he gathers [the] scattered ones of Israel. NIV 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. LEB 3 [He is] the one who heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. NIV 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. LEB 4 [He] counts [the] number of the stars; he gives names to all of them. LEB 8 who covers [the] heavens with clouds, who provides rain for the earth, who causes grass to grow on the mountains. NIV 8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. LEB 9 [He] gives to [the] animal its food, [and] to [the] young ravens that cry. NIV 9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. LEB 10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; he takes no pleasure in the legs of the man. NIV 10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man; LEB 11 Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him, the ones who hope for his loyal love. NIV 11 the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. LEB 12 Laud Yahweh, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion, NIV 12 Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion, LEB 13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates. He blesses your children within you; NIV 13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you. LEB 14 [he] makes your border peaceful; he satisfies you with [the] {finest of wheat}. NIV 14 He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. LEB 15 [He] sends out his command to [the] earth; his word runs swiftly. NIV 15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. LEB 16 [He] gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes; NIV 16 He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. LEB 17 [he] throws his hail like crumbs. Who can stand before his cold? NIV 17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast? LEB 18 He sends out his word and melts them; he blows his breath, the water flows. NIV 18 He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow. LEB 19 [He] declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel. NIV 19 He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. LEB 20 He has not done so for any nation, and they do not know [his] ordinances. Praise Yah. NIV 20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
