GNT 1 Lord, don't be angry and rebuke me! Don't punish me in your anger! NIV 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. GNT 2 I am worn out, O Lord; have pity on me! Give me strength; I am completely exhausted NIV 2 Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. GNT 3 and my whole being is deeply troubled. How long, O Lord, will you wait to help me? NIV 3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? GNT 4 Come and save me, Lord; in your mercy rescue me from death. NIV 4 Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. GNT 5 In the world of the dead you are not remembered; no one can praise you there. NIV 5 No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ? GNT 6 I am worn out with grief; every night my bed is damp from my weeping; my pillow is soaked with tears. NIV 6 I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. GNT 7 I can hardly see; my eyes are so swollen from the weeping caused by my enemies. NIV 7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. GNT 8 Keep away from me, you evil people! The Lord hears my weeping; NIV 8 Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. GNT 9 he listens to my cry for help and will answer my prayer. NIV 9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. GNT 10 My enemies will know the bitter shame of defeat; in sudden confusion they will be driven away. NIV 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
