Psalm 6

TMB 1 <<To the chief musician: On Neginoth, upon the eight. A Psalm of David.>> O LORD, rebuke me not in Thine anger, neither chasten me in Thy hot displeasure. NIV 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. TMB 2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are vexed. NIV 2 Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. TMB 3 My soul is also sore vexed, but Thou, O LORD, how long? NIV 3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? TMB 4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul! O save me for Thy mercies' sake! NIV 4 Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. TMB 5 For in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the grave who shall give Thee thanks? NIV 5 No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ? TMB 6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night I make my bed to swim, I water my couch with my tears. NIV 6 I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. TMB 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. NIV 7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. TMB 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity, for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. NIV 8 Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. TMB 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. NIV 9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. TMB 10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sorely vexed; let them turn back and be put to shame suddenly. NIV 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
