37 Yo pues te tomaré a ti, y tú reinarás en todas las cosas que deseare tu alma, y serás rey sobre Israel.

38 Y será que , si prestares oído a todas las cosas que te mandare, y anduvieres en mis caminos, e hicieres lo que es recto delante de mis ojos, guardando mis estatutos y mis mandamientos, como hizo David mi siervo, yo seré contigo, y te edificaré casa firme, como la edifiqué a David, y yo te entregaré a Israel.

39 Y yo afligiré la simiente de David a causa de esto, mas no para siempre.

40 Procuró por tanto Salomón matar a Jeroboam, pero se levantó Jeroboam y huyó a Egipto, a Sisac rey de Egipto, y estuvo en Egipto hasta la muerte de Salomón.

41 Lo demás de los hechos de Salomón, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su sabiduría, ¿no están escritas en el libro de los hechos de Salomón?

42 Y los días que Salomón reinó en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel, fueron cuarenta años.

43 Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y fue sepultado en la ciudad de su padre David; y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 11

This chapter relates the false steps Solomon took, notwithstanding all his wisdom, in marrying strange wives, and worshipping other gods, 1Ki 11:1-8 upon which the Lord threatens him to rend the kingdom in his son's time, 1Ki 11:9-13 and he raised up adversaries against him, Hadad, Rezon, and Jeroboam, 1Ki 11:14-26 of which last an account is given, and of his being assured by Ahijah the prophet of his having ten of the tribes of Israel given to him; which Solomon having notice of sought to slay him, 1Ki 11:27-40 and the chapter is concluded with an account of Solomon's death and burial, 1Ki 11:41-43.
