Ezequiel 30:8-18

8 'Y sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR, cuando ponga fuego a Egipto y sean destrozados todos los que le ayudan.

9 'Aquel día saldrán de mi presencia mensajeros en naves para aterrorizar a la confiada Etiopía; y vendrá angustia sobre ellos como en el día de Egipto; porque he aquí, viene.'

10 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: "Acabaré con la multitud de Egipto por mano de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia.

11 'El, y su pueblo con él, la más cruel de las naciones, será traída para destruir la tierra; sacarán sus espadas contra Egipto y llenarán de traspasados la tierra.

12 'Convertiré en sequedal los canales del Nilo y venderé la tierra en manos de malvados; desolaré la tierra y cuanto hay en ella por mano de extraños. Yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado.'

13 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: "Destruiré también los ídolos y haré cesar las imágenes de Menfis . Ya no habrá príncipe en la tierra de Egipto, y pondré temor en la tierra de Egipto.

14 'Asolaré a Patros, pondré fuego en Soán, y ejecutaré juicios contra Tebas .

15 'Derramaré mi furor sobre Sin , la fortaleza de Egipto; también exterminaré a la multitud de Tebas.

16 'Y pondré fuego en Egipto; Sin se retorcerá de dolor, Tebas será destruida, y Menfis tendrá angustias cada día.

17 'Los jóvenes de On y de Pi-beset caerán a espada, y las mujeres irán al cautiverio.

18 'En Tafnes el día se oscurecerá cuando yo quiebre allí los yugos de Egipto, y cesará en ella la soberbia de su poderío; una nube la cubrirá, y sus hijas irán al cautiverio.

Ezequiel 30:8-18 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 30

This chapter is a continuation of the prophecy against Egypt, both against the country and the king of it. It is introduced with expressions of lamentation, because of the destruction coming on, Eze 30:1-3, and not only Egypt, and the cities thereof, should be destroyed, but all her friends, associates, and allies; the Ethiopians, Lydians, Lybians, and others, Eze 30:4-9. Nebuchadnezzar and his army were to be the instruments of her ruin, Eze 30:10-12, particular cities are mentioned by name, which should suffer much, and become desolate, Eze 30:13-19 and then Pharaoh king of Egypt himself is threatened with broken arms, and his people to be scattered among the nations, Eze 30:20-23, and the king of Babylon is again mentioned, whose arms should be strengthened to do all this, Eze 30:24-26.
