Genèse 36:4-14

4 Ada enfanta à Esaü Eliphaz; Basmath enfanta Réuel;

5 et Oholibama enfanta Jéusch, Jaelam et Koré. Ce sont là les fils d'Esaü, qui lui naquirent dans le pays de Canaan.

6 Esaü prit ses femmes, ses fils et ses filles, toutes les personnes de sa maison, ses troupeaux, tout son bétail, et tout le bien qu'il avait acquis au pays de Canaan, et il s'en alla dans un autre pays, loin de Jacob, son frère.

7 Car leurs richesses étaient trop considérables pour qu'ils demeurassent ensemble, et la contrée où ils séjournaient ne pouvait plus leur suffire à cause de leurs troupeaux.

8 Esaü s'établit dans la montagne de Séir. Esaü, c'est Edom.

9 Voici la postérité d'Esaü, père d'Edom, dans la montagne de Séir.

10 Voici les noms des fils d'Esaü: Eliphaz, fils d'Ada, femme d'Esaü; Réuel, fils de Basmath, femme d'Esaü.

11 Les fils d'Eliphaz furent: Théman, Omar, Tsepho, Gaetham et Kenaz.

12 Et Thimna était la concubine d'Eliphaz, fils d'Esaü: elle enfanta à Eliphaz Amalek. Ce sont là les fils d'Ada, femme d'Esaü.

13 Voici les fils de Réuel: Nahath, Zérach, Schamma et Mizza. Ce sont là les fils de Basmath, femme d'Esaü.

14 Voici les fils d'Oholibama, fille d'Ana, fille de Tsibeon, femme d'Esaü: elle enfanta à Esaü Jéusch, Jaelam et Koré.

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 36

This chapter gives us a genealogical account of Esau's family, of his wives and sons, with whom he removed from Seir, Ge 36:1-10; of his sons' sons, or grandsons, who were dukes in the land of Edom, Ge 36:11-19; after which is inserted a genealogy of Seir the Horite, into whose family Esau married, and of his children, and the dukes among them, Ge 36:20-30; then follows a list of the kings of Edom, before there were any in Israel, Ge 36:31-39; and the chapter is closed with a brief narration of the dukes of Esau, according to their families, Ge 36:40-43.
