Isaías 64:7-12

Listen to Isaías 64:7-12
7 E n茫o h谩 quem invoque o teu nome, que desperte, e te detenha; pois escondeste de n贸s o teu rosto e nos consumiste, por causa das nossas iniq眉idades.
8 Mas agora, 贸 Senhor, tu 茅s nosso Pai; n贸s somos o barro, e tu o nosso oleiro; e todos n贸s obra das tuas m茫os.
9 N茫o te agastes tanto, 贸 Senhor, nem perpetuamente te lembres da iniq眉idade; olha, pois, n贸s te pedimos, todos n贸s somos o teu povo.
10 As tuas santas cidades se tornaram em deserto, Si茫o est谩 feita um ermo, Jerusal茅m uma desola莽茫o.
11 A nossa santa e gloriosa casa, em que te louvavam nossos pais, foi queimada a fogo; e todos os nossos lugares apraz铆veis se tornaram em ru铆nas.
12 Acaso conter-te-谩s tu ainda sobre estas calamidades, 贸 Senhor? ficar谩s calado, e nos afligir谩s tanto?

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 64

The prayer of the church is continued in this chapter; in which she prays for some visible display of the power and presence of God, as in times past, Isa 64:1-3, and the rather, since unheard of and unseen things were prepared by the Lord for his people; and it was his usual way to meet those that were truly religious, Isa 64:4,5, and she acknowledges her sins and transgressions; the imperfections of her own righteousness, and remissness in duty, Isa 64:5-7, pleads relation to God, and implores his mercy, Isa 64:8,9, represents the desolate condition of Judea, Zion, Jerusalem, and the temple, and entreats divine commiseration, Isa 64:10-12.
