Proverbs 11:3-13 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.1 4 Wealth2 is worthless in the day of wrath,3 but righteousness delivers from death.4 5 The righteousness of the blameless makes a straight way5 for them, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.6 6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.7 7 When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes;8 all he expected from his power comes to nothing.9 8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead.10 9 With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.11 10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;12 when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.13 11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,14 but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.15 12 A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor,16 but a man of understanding holds his tongue.17 13 A gossip betrays a confidence,18 but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.19
