O LORD, you have seen1 this; be not silent. Do not be far2 from me, O Lord.
Awake,3 and rise4 to my defense! Contend5 for me, my God and Lord.
Vindicate me in your righteousness, O LORD my God; do not let them gloat6 over me.
Do not let them think, "Aha,7 just what we wanted!" or say, "We have swallowed him up."826
May all who gloat9 over my distress10 be put to shame11 and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me12 be clothed with shame and disgrace.
May those who delight in my vindication13 shout for joy14 and gladness; may they always say, "The LORD be exalted, who delights15 in the well-being of his servant."1628
My tongue will speak of your righteousness17 and of your praises all day long.18
