4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes.¹ There will be no more death² or mourning or crying or pain,³ for the old order of things has passed away."⁴ 5 He who was seated on the throne⁵ said, "I am making everything new!"⁶ Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."⁷ 6 He said to me: "It is done.⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega,⁹ the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost¹⁰ from the spring of the water of life.¹¹ 7 He who overcomes¹² will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.¹³ 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars¹⁴--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.¹⁵ This is the second death."¹⁶
