Deuteronomy 14:4

These are the beasts which they shall eat
That is, which they might lawfully eat of, which were allowed for their food; for they were not obliged to eat of them if they did not choose it:

the ox, the sheep, and the goat;
which were creatures used in sacrifice, and the only ones, yet nevertheless they might be used for food if chosen.

2 Porque eres pueblo santo á Jehová tu Dios, y Jehová te ha escogido para que le seas un pueblo singular de entre todos los pueblos que están sobre la haz de la tierra.

3 Nada abominable comerás.

4 Estos son los animales que comeréis: el buey, la oveja, y la cabra,

5 El ciervo, el corzo, y el búfalo, y el cabrío salvaje, y el unicornio, y buey salvaje, y cabra montés.

6 Y todo animal de pezuñas, que tiene hendidura de dos uñas, y que rumiare entre los animales, ese comeréis.
