Deuteronomy 28:9

9 The LORD shall establish thee a holy people to himself, as he hath sworn to thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

Deuteronomy 28:9

And the Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself,
&c.] Having separated them from all others, for his service, honour, and glory, should continue them as such, and settle them in the land, and confirm all their privileges, natural, civil, and religious. The Targum of Jonathan is,

``the Word of the Lord shall establish thee''
he that brought them out of Egypt, through the Red sea and wilderness, to the land of Canaan: as he hath sworn unto thee:
and to their fathers; see ( Deuteronomy 7:12 Deuteronomy 7:13 ) ; if thou shall keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in
his ways;
by which tenure they held the land of Canaan, and their settlement and continuance in it, and enjoyment of all the good things thereof; see ( Isaiah 1:19 Isaiah 1:20 ) .

7 The LORD shall cause thy enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy store-houses, and in all that thou settest thy hand to: and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

10 And all the people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee to abound in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD swore to thy fathers to give thee.
