How often have you heard it said if not said it yourself at one time, “Oh I’ll take care of business with God later on down the road, but I’m not ready now!” The problem with that is, tomorrow may never come. Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll see the danger of procrastination. Pastor Jeff Johnson looks at Felix’s response to Paul’s message. He puts off the decision to trust in Christ for forgiveness.

Are you one of those that has a honey do list a mile long, but keep telling your spouse you’ll get to it some other time? In some areas of life procrastination isn’t such a big deal, but putting off salvation is never a good idea because we’re not guaranteed tomorrow! We’ll see a good example of that as we turn back to Acts 24 here on Sound Doctrine.

Life is inconvenient. Whether we’re too late, or too early for something, we’re always looking for a way out, or when it’s more convenient. We’ll even wait to make a decision for Christ, by not responding when we had the chance. But, today is the day for salvation, and later may be too late.

There’s always the temptation to compromise. Sometimes pressure gets the better of us. But, like Paul, we’re to confront people with the truth, in love, and in self-control. Paul knew that his testimony would stir up trouble, but it didn’t sway him from keeping to his word.
