Jesus' parable of the evil tenants, found in Matthew, is a scathing response to the Pharisees' challenge. It's a brutal truth for them, and a crucial reminder for us. Will we accept Jesus as our cornerstone, or reject him as so many have?

Have you ever prayed with intensity for something and at the end of the prayer all you got was silence? Maybe you have even prayed, and it felt like all your prayer did was hit the ceiling and bounce right back.

If you have felt this way, all I can say is – welcome to the club. You are not alone because many believers have been in this position where God seems silent. So what do you do and how do you handle this? I am going to give you some answers to this question, however they come with a caveat. It may be a lot easier to know what to do then it is to do it.

If you are in the place right now where God seems silent, then what you need is encouragement. For that reason, I am glad you are here because that is my only objective in writing this article.

If your pastor speaks positively about an issue you support, you're probably happy about that. But if he condemns that same issue, it's a different story. Should pastors ever address politics from the pulpit, or should those always stay separated?

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But do we, like children, fear that God is just waiting up there to punish us for our wrongdoing? Or do we mourn the broken relationship sin brings about in our lives? Let's take a look at what exactly sin does.

As I present my case, I am not questioning the intentions of those who own these channels. However, I am questioning whether the content produced on these channels is actually presenting Christ and the body of Christ in the most positive light.

What is the gospel? Like many questions, it really depends on who you ask. However, as followers of Christ, this message that we call the gospel stands as the bedrock foundation of our faith.

What you learn from their story is that sin has a high price tag. While sin makes promises, it never fulfills them, and the consequences are usually devastating. As the saying goes, the juice is not worth the squeeze. Sin has ruined and destroyed the promise of many people’s lives throughout the years, and still does it to this day.

Recently, I have received quite a few emails and within them I noticed a trend. Each one was filled with a misunderstanding related to a specific aspect of our walk with Jesus. At the core of these misunderstandings was bad teaching. When people shared their situation with me, I recognized they had fallen victim to it. The problem with most bad teaching is there is usually a measure of truth in it. That’s why it is hard to discern. As Spurgeon said, discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong but knowing the difference between right and almost right.

I believe most people don’t set out to believe in bad teaching; I believe they become victims of it. What throws people off is the measure of truth in it. While there are several bad teachings I could focus on, I am only going to focus on the four I have been asked about most recently. I can’t speak to the motive of those who teach these things. I just know we live in a day where there is a lot of bad doctrine, and more avenues to get access to it. For this reason, it is important to set the record straight on these four teachings.

It is one thing to love someone the way you love yourself. It is completely different to love someone the way Jesus loves you. This begs me to ask - how has Jesus loved you?

Now, I know what some of you may be thinking. Are we about to have another conversation about race that's going to make everyone uncomfortable? Well, maybe that slight discomfort you are feeling is exactly why we need to have these conversations. However, my desire is to not make this a heavy conversation, but one that is engaging and meaningful to you. So, I ask you to open your heart, and let's talk about why Black History Month should matter, especially to those of us who are followers of Jesus.

In some circles of Christianity, people foolishly believe that God working for our good means everything is going to go well all the time. They believe they will always end up on top in this life. While that sounds like a wonderful idea, that is not how this promise works or what this verse means.
