We read throughout the Bible that God is Triune. He is three in one. We can allow this fact about Him to intimidate us, or we can press into the joy, mystery, and reality of how He describes Himself.

Although we ultimately must trust the Lord in His sovereignty with whoever is in the Oval Office, the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court, we have a valuable role to play. We have the choice to vote.

If we believe God at His Word, then we know that He has spoken to us. He is telling us that His Bible is His Word, and it still speaks today. It is useful to us, changes us, and prepares us to live our lives with His Spirit within us. The SOAP method is one great way to help us go deeper into the Bible and reflect on how God is speaking to us personally though His Word. 

The Lord is so patient with us. He is kind and does not want anyone to perish, but all to come to Him. When we are stubborn in our sin natures, He continues to call us to Himself. He pursues us in love and with gentleness.

Snow is the precipitation of winter. It helps to provide water that is soaked into the ground and used towards the spring blooms. In God’s goodness, He provides for the needs of the land and people through snow.

If we are breathing right now, the Lord has a purpose for our lives. He has something that He desires for us to be doing for His kingdom. Just because we might feel done, does not mean that the Lord is done.

What if instead of living in shame, we chose to cling to the truth of the Bible and restart with the power of the Holy Spirit? A date on the calendar does not define our success. We are victorious in Christ Jesus. Here are hopeful Scriptures for failed new year’s resolutions.

Good deeds (tasks) are not a bad thing in and of themselves. Matthew teaches us that the purpose of them is to praise God and to let our lights shine so others would be witnessed to. The ultimate hope is that others can have a relationship with Jesus. This poses questions like, “Is my task meaningful?” or “Is the Lord glorified in this?”

We as Christ followers have the ability to demolish strongholds. The Greek word for stronghold is ochuróma. It implies a place of refuge and safety, when in actuality, it is a prison. Sometimes we hear people use the phrase, “What is your vice?” Is there an area in your life where you turn to, but it is actually a stronghold?

Think back on the names of your relatives. How far back have you gotten? I tried once to compile the names of family members, and could only get back a few generations. The Scriptures provide 42 generations in Jesus’ genealogy. This is no small amount of information. This is miraculous.

The truth is that we have a variety of selections as to who we are going to be in life. However, Jesus is the spiritual expert and He can transform our hearts if we say yes to Him. As believers in Christ, we are under the process of a spiritual makeover.

The year is almost complete, and we will be breaking out new calendars and planners soon. As we are right in the sweet spot between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is easy to become overly busy with activities, baking, parties, work functions and family gatherings.

One of the first things to go if we are not careful is our time spent with God. The irony is that this is a season when we are supposed to be reflecting on the Savior’s birth, and yet we can so easily become consumed with other things. We are all guilty of this, but the beauty is that there is new mercy for today and we can start fresh.

Here are five ways to get back in the Bible this holiday season.

When we consider the words “No trespassing” in our modern culture, this means that there is a clear boundary established that we are not legally allowed to break. In a similar way, and biblically speaking, trespass can be thought of in this way. When we step outside of any boundary which God has created, we are trespassing against Him and others.
