Encouraging Bible Verses That Remind Us Not to Worry

There are countless things in this world today that can cause us to worry. We can spend all of our efforts, thoughts, and energy running in “worry circles.” Our minds fixate on irrational fears, or we focus on the hard situations in front of us and never remember God is in the midst of them.

How often do we become fearful of the opinion of others? How frequently can we become people pleasers, afraid of evil, or give too much power to people? The Scriptures tell us that God comforts us and reminds us that He is our helper and men are not in power – the Lord is in control. Even though they can absolutely kill a body or hurt someone, they can never take away faith and salvation in Jesus. We have eternal security and peace that the Lord has the final say.

This one is a challenge because it is so easy to worry about our trials and death. We are faced with the harsh reality of sin and need. Remember that even though we are on hard paths, God will help us not to fear evil, but find comfort in His presence and His strength. Worrying will not help the situation, it will only hurts us.

Ultimately, we are commanded not to worry about anything. This is such a challenge for those of us who wrestle with anxiety, however with the help of the Holy Spirit we can strive for hearts and minds that fully trust in Him. We do not have to be anxious about anything, but we can pray about everything. God hears our cries and our needs. He provides for us in ways that world never could. There are temporary fixes to worries in the world, but all fade. Jesus’ eternal gift never ends.
