BST Quick Tips: That's the Plan

Jumping into Bible study can seem overwhelming. But don't let that be an excuse to "never get around to it." Instead, overcome the sense of being overwhelmed by making a plan.

While your plan can be as specific as signing up for one of our Bible reading plans, it can also be more general. In fact, you can simply plan to spend 15 minutes a day reading or to listen to the Bible on your way from work. You may also plan to read through the New Testament or just the gospels. Whatever it is, the purpose isn't to feel guilty about missing specific deadlines; it's to feel good about making God's Word important in your life (see 1 Thessalonians 2:13).

Once you have your plan, consider writing it down somewhere that you'll see it or find another way to remind yourself. Put a sticky note on the mirror. Share it with a friend who will join you in your plan. Make BibleStudyTools.com your homepage or download our iPhone app.

However you do it, just plan to study. That simple step may very well be the motivation you need to get going.
