17 Cuando se dio aviso a David, éste reunió a todo Israel, cruzó el Jordán y llegó a Helam. Los arameos se pusieron en orden de batalla para enfrentarse a David, y pelearon contra él.

2 Samuel 10:17

And when it was told David
What preparations the Syrians were making to fight him, and where they were:

he gathered all Israel together;
all the fighting men in the country:

and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam:
which, according to Bunting {b}, was twenty miles from Jerusalem. David seems to have gone himself in person to this war:

and the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with
him;
they formed themselves in a line of battle, and attacked him first, being eager to fight, and perhaps confident of victory, because of their numbers.

15 Al ver los arameos que habían sido derrotados por Israel, volvieron a concentrarse.

16 Hadad-ezer mandó sacar a los arameos que estaban al otro lado del río y fueron a Helam; y Sobac, jefe del ejército de Hadad-ezer, iba al frente de ellos.

17 Cuando se dio aviso a David, éste reunió a todo Israel, cruzó el Jordán y llegó a Helam. Los arameos se pusieron en orden de batalla para enfrentarse a David, y pelearon contra él.

18 Pero los arameos huyeron delante de Israel, y David mató a setecientos hombres de los carros de los arameos, y a cuarenta mil hombres de a caballo, e hirió a Sobac, jefe de su ejército, el cual murió allí.

19 Cuando todos los reyes, siervos de Hadad-ezer, vieron que habían sido derrotados por Israel, hicieron la paz con Israel y le sirvieron. Y los arameos tuvieron temor de ayudar más a los hijos de Amón.
