2 Samuel 17:18

Nevertheless, a lad saw them, and told Absalom
Saw them conversing with the girl, and departing for David's army; according to Josephus ^F15, they were some horsemen that saw them about two furlongs or a quarter mile from Jerusalem, and acquainted Absalom with it:

but they went both of them away quickly;
made all the haste they could with their message to David:

and came to a man's house in Bahurim;
where very probably they had been informed David had been, whither he came weary, and had refreshment, ( 2 Samuel 16:14 ) ; or rather, perceiving they were discovered and pursued, they turned in hither, the first place they came to, for safety:

which had a well in his court;
which they observed, and was the reason of their turning in:

whither they went down;
to hide themselves from their pursuers, it being dry, as sometimes wells were in the summertime: Josephus says {p}, a woman let them down by a rope.

16 Ahora pues, enviad inmediatamente y avisad a David, diciendo: No pases la noche en los vados del desierto sino pasa al otro lado sin falta, no sea que el rey y el pueblo que está con él sean destruidos.

17 Y Jonatán y Ahimaas aguardaban en En-rogel ; una criada iría a avisarles y ellos irían a avisar al rey David, porque no debían verse entrando a la ciudad.

18 Pero un muchacho los vio y avisó a Absalón; así que los dos salieron rápidamente y fueron a la casa de un hombre en Bahurim que tenía un pozo en su patio, al cual descendieron.

19 Y tomando la mujer una manta, la extendió sobre la boca del pozo y esparció grano sobre ella, de modo que nada se notaba.

20 Entonces los siervos de Absalón fueron a la casa de la mujer y dijeron: ¿Dónde están Ahimaas y Jonatán? Y la mujer les dijo: Ellos han pasado el arroyo. Buscaron, y al no encontrarlos, regresaron a Jerusalén.
