2 Samuel 3:7-17

7 Y Saúl había tenido una concubina cuyo nombre era Rizpa, hija de Aja; y dijo Is-boset a Abner: ¿Por qué te has llegado a la concubina de mi padre?

8 Entonces Abner se enojó mucho por las palabras de Is-boset, y dijo: ¿Acaso soy yo cabeza de perro que pertenece a Judá? Hoy he mostrado bondad hacia la casa de tu padre Saúl, hacia sus hermanos y hacia sus amigos, y no te he entregado en manos de David; sin embargo, tú me acusas hoy de una ofensa con esta mujer.

9 Así haga Dios a Abner, y aún más, si lo que el SEÑOR ha jurado a David no lo obtengo para él:

10 transferir el reino de la casa de Saúl y establecer el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá desde Dan hasta Beerseba.

11 Y él ya no pudo responder a Abner ni una palabra, porque le temía.

12 Entonces Abner envió mensajeros a David de su parte, diciendo: ¿De quién es la tierra? Y que dijeran también: Haz tu pacto conmigo, y he aquí, mi mano será contigo para traer a ti a todo Israel.

13 Y él respondió: Muy bien. Haré pacto contigo, pero una cosa demando de ti: No verás mi rostro a menos de que cuando vengas a verme traigas a Mical, la hija de Saúl.

14 Y David envió mensajeros a Is-boset, el hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Dame a mi mujer Mical, con la cual me desposé por cien prepucios de los filisteos.

15 Is-boset, pues, envió a quitársela a su marido, a Paltiel, hijo de Lais.

16 Pero su marido fue con ella, llorando mientras iba, y la siguió hasta Bahurim. Entonces Abner le dijo: Ve, vuélvete. Y él se volvió.

17 Abner consultó con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Hace tiempo que buscabais a David para que fuera rey sobre vosotros.

INTRODUCTION TO SECOND SAMUEL 3

This chapter begins with the continuation of the war between the house of Saul and the house of David, 2Sa 3:1; and gives an account of the wives of David, and his sons by them, 2Sa 3:2-5; of a quarrel between Ishbosheth and Abner, 2Sa 3:6-11; and of Abner's proposal to make a league with David; but David would not see his face unless Michal his wife was returned to him, who was accordingly, 2Sa 3:12-16; and of the interest Abner made with the elders of Israel in favour of David, which he reported to him, and promised to make more, 2Sa 3:17-21; but Joab returning from a pursuit, and with great spoil, just as Abner departed, and hearing of it, chided David for letting him go, and privately sent for him back, and treacherously murdered him, 2Sa 3:22-27; from which murder David cleared himself and his kingdom, and for it made dreadful imprecations on Joab and his family, 2Sa 3:28-30; and buried Abner with great lamentation, expressing much concern for his death, and the high opinion he had of him, 2Sa 3:31-39.
