Deuteronomy 9:14

Let me alone, that I may destroy them
Do not say one word to me on their behalf, or entreat me to spare them, and not destroy them:

and blot out their name from under heaven;
that no such nation may be heard of, or known by the name of Israel:

and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they;
of his family, whereby the Lord's promise to Abraham would not have been made void, but equally firm and sure, since this mightier and greater nation would have been of his seed; (See Gill on Exodus 32:10).

12 Entonces el SEÑOR me dijo: "Levántate; baja aprisa de aquí, porque tu pueblo que sacaste de Egipto se ha corrompido. Pronto se han apartado del camino que yo les había ordenado; se han hecho un ídolo de fundición."

13 También me habló el SEÑOR, diciendo: "He visto a este pueblo, y en verdad es un pueblo de dura cerviz.

14 "Déjame que los destruya y borre su nombre de debajo del cielo; y de ti haré una nación más grande y más poderosa que ellos."

15 Y volví, y descendí del monte mientras el monte ardía con fuego, y las dos tablas del pacto estaban en mis dos manos.

16 Y vi que en verdad habíais pecado contra el SEÑOR vuestro Dios. Os habíais hecho un becerro de fundición; pronto os habíais apartado del camino que el SEÑOR os había ordenado.
