Deuteronomy 9:15

So I turned and came down from the mount
As the Lord commanded:

and the mount burned with fire;
as it had for six weeks past, ever since the Lord's descent upon it; and so it continued, for the words may be rendered, "and the mount was burning" ^F2; and yet this did not deter the Israelites from idolatry:

and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands:
one table in one hand, and the other in the other hand.

14 "Déjame que los destruya y borre su nombre de debajo del cielo; y de ti haré una nación más grande y más poderosa que ellos."

15 Y volví, y descendí del monte mientras el monte ardía con fuego, y las dos tablas del pacto estaban en mis dos manos.

16 Y vi que en verdad habíais pecado contra el SEÑOR vuestro Dios. Os habíais hecho un becerro de fundición; pronto os habíais apartado del camino que el SEÑOR os había ordenado.

17 Tomé las dos tablas, las arrojé de mis manos y las hice pedazos delante de vuestros ojos.
