9 Todav铆a estaba 茅l hablando con ellos, cuando lleg贸 Raquel con las ovejas de su padre, pues ella era pastora.
10 Y sucedi贸 que cuando Jacob vio a Raquel, hija de Lab谩n, hermano de su madre, y las ovejas de Lab谩n, hermano de su madre, Jacob subi贸 y quit贸 la piedra de la boca del pozo, y dio de beber al reba帽o de Lab谩n, hermano de su madre.
11 Entonces Jacob bes贸 a Raquel, y alz贸 su voz y llor贸.
12 Y Jacob hizo saber a Raquel que 茅l era pariente de su padre, y que era hijo de Rebeca; y ella corri贸 y se lo hizo saber a su padre.
13 Y sucedi贸 que cuando Lab谩n oy贸 las noticias de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corri贸 a su encuentro, lo abraz贸, lo bes贸 y lo trajo a su casa. Entonces 茅l cont贸 a Lab谩n todas estas cosas.
14 Y le dijo Lab谩n: Ciertamente t煤 eres hueso m铆o y carne m铆a. Y Jacob se qued贸 con 茅l todo un mes.
15 Y Lab谩n dijo a Jacob: 驴Acaso porque eres mi pariente has de servirme de balde? Hazme saber cu谩l ser谩 tu salario.
16 Lab谩n ten铆a dos hijas; el nombre de la mayor era Lea, y el nombre de la menor, Raquel.
17 Y los ojos de Lea eran delicados, pero Raquel era de bella figura y de hermoso parecer.
18 Y Jacob se hab铆a enamorado de Raquel, y dijo: Te servir茅 siete a帽os por Raquel, tu hija menor.
19 Y Lab谩n dijo: Mejor es d谩rtela a ti que d谩rsela a otro hombre; qu茅date conmigo.

Génesis 29:9-19 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 29

This chapter informs us of Jacob's coming to a well near Haran, where meeting with some shepherds he inquires after Laban, Ge 29:1-8; and there also with Rachel his daughter, the shepherds made known to him, and acquainted her who he was, Ge 29:9-12; upon which she ran to her father, and told him who was at the well, who went forth and brought him to his house, and kindly entertained him, Ge 29:13,14; with whom he agreed to stay and serve seven years for Rachel his daughter, Ge 29:15-20; at the end of which Jacob demands his wife, but instead of Rachel, Leah was brought to him as his wife, Ge 29:21-25; which being discovered, and complained of, it was proposed he should have Rachel also, provided he would serve yet seven years more, to which he agreed, Ge 29:26-30; and the chapter is concluded with an account of four sons being born to Jacob of Leah, Ge 29:31-35.
