Génesis 5:26-32

26 Y vivió Matusalén setecientos ochenta y dos años después de haber engendrado a Lamec, y engendró hijos e hijas.

27 El total de los días de Matusalén fue de novecientos sesenta y nueve años, y murió.

28 Y Lamec vivió ciento ochenta y dos años, y engendró un hijo.

29 Y le puso por nombre Noé , diciendo: Este nos dará descanso de nuestra labor y del trabajo de nuestras manos, por causa de la tierra que el SEÑOR ha maldecido.

30 Y vivió Lamec quinientos noventa y cinco años después de haber engendrado a Noé, y engendró hijos e hijas.

31 El total de los días de Lamec fue de setecientos setenta y siete años, y murió.

32 Y Noé tenía quinientos años, y engendró a Sem, a Cam y a Jafet.

Génesis 5:26-32 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 5

This chapter contains a list or catalogue of the posterity of Adam in the line of Seth, down to Noah; it begins with a short account of the creation of Adam, and of his life and death, Ge 5:1-5 next of five of the antediluvian patriarchs, their age and death, namely Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Ge 5:6-20 then a particular relation of Enoch, his character and translation, Ge 5:21-24 then follows an account of Methuselah, the oldest man, and Lamech's oracle concerning his son Noah, Ge 5:12-29 and the chapter is closed with the life and death of Lamech, and the birth of the three sons of Noah, Ge 5:30-32.
