Josué 5:6

6 Pues los hijos de Israel anduvieron por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que pereció toda la nación, es decir, los hombres de guerra que salieron de Egipto, porque no escucharon la voz del SEÑOR; a ellos el SEÑOR les juró que no les permitiría ver la tierra que el SEÑOR había jurado a sus padres que nos daría, una tierra que mana leche y miel.

Joshua 5:6

For the children of Israel walked forty years in the
wilderness
Wanting a few days, the round number is given: not forty two, as the Septuagint version:

till all the people [that were] men of war, which came out of Egypt,
were consumed;
all that were above twenty years of age, excepting Joshua and Caleb:

because they obeyed not the voice of the Lord;
but murmured against him, and against his servants, and particularly against Aaron, being the high priest; and chiefly because of the report of the spies, and their murmurs then, which so incensed the Lord against them, that he threatened them with an entire consumption of their carcasses, and which accordingly was fulfilled, to which the following clause refers:

unto whom the Lord sware, that he would not show them the land which
the Lord sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that
floweth with milk and honey;
see ( Numbers 14:23 Numbers 14:24 ) .

4 Esta es la razón por la cual Josué los circuncidó: todos los del pueblo que salieron de Egipto que eran varones, todos los hombres de guerra, murieron en el desierto, por el camino, después que salieron de Egipto.

5 Porque todos los del pueblo que salieron fueron circuncidados, pero todos los del pueblo que nacieron en el desierto, por el camino, después de salir de Egipto, no habían sido circuncidados.

6 Pues los hijos de Israel anduvieron por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que pereció toda la nación, es decir, los hombres de guerra que salieron de Egipto, porque no escucharon la voz del SEÑOR; a ellos el SEÑOR les juró que no les permitiría ver la tierra que el SEÑOR había jurado a sus padres que nos daría, una tierra que mana leche y miel.

7 Y a los hijos de ellos, que El levantó en su lugar, Josué los circuncidó; pues eran incircuncisos, porque no los habían circuncidado en el camino.

8 Y sucedió que cuando terminaron de circuncidar a toda la nación, permanecieron en sus lugares en el campamento hasta que sanaron.
