11 Creedme que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; y si no, creed por las obras mismas.

John 14:11

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me,
&c.] Take my word for the truth of this; you may assure yourselves that nothing is more certain; but if you will not believe upon my saying so, either believe for the sake of the doctrines I have preached unto you, which are such as never any mere man spoke, and which have been delivered in such a manner, and with such authority, as never were by man. Some copies read, by way of interrogation, and so the Ethiopic version; and the Vulgate Latin version reads, "believe ye not?"

or else believe me for the very work's sake:
meaning his miraculous works, such as raising the dead, cleansing the lepers, causing the deaf to hear, and giving sight to the blind; and which were such as none but a divine person could ever perform.

9 Jesús le dijo<***>: ¿Tanto tiempo he estado con vosotros, y todavía no me conoces, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo dices tú: "Muéstranos al Padre"?

10 ¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os digo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre que mora en mí es el que hace las obras.

11 Creedme que yo estoy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; y si no, creed por las obras mismas.

12 En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que cree en mí, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también; y aun mayores que éstas hará, porque yo voy al Padre.

13 Y todo lo que pidáis en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.
